"Static" is the title track and emotional centerpiece of the album. It uses radio frequency as a metaphor for connection: you used to come in crystal clear, now all that's left is white noise.
The song captures that gradual erosion of communication in a relationship. When you used to talk for hours about nothing, and now you can barely find words. When every attempt to tune back in just brings more interference.
